Reader Question – USA - I have been lead by God to create a woman’s ministry. Please give some idea where to start. Everyone said just write, but I am still lost.
Answer: God is in the business of inspiring us to do great things in our generation, displaying His goodness to all. People need to know that God is for them and God uses people just like you and I to tell them and teach them about His great love! I’m glad to hear your answering the call! Because I don’t know the details of your life experience I’ll address your question in a very general manner.
Here’s what I have experienced and what I suggest:
Prayer – that’s where the desire to serve came from and that’s where the unknown details will find their way into your heart. Prayer opens up your heart and mind to the heart and mind of God – always a good thing – especially when you need answers! Trust God – you can be sure He’ll give you the details to follow.
Patience – Don’t try to force God’s timing – He makes all things beautiful in it’s time. There is a timing issue to this dream – it’s set to match the needs and readiness of the people whom you will serve – BE PATIENT. Your part in history is timed.
Preparation - Pay close attention to your gifts and what inspires you – Develop your strengths to their full potential – don’t be moved by your weaknesses – they are the connecting point between you and future team members. If you have a desire to write – find out all you can about writing. Be ready to roll when God says “GO”.
Power Up – Study the Bible - God’s word will develop your character and prepare you to serve people in the toughest situations. Leadership is all about service and those who do it best are strong in character.
Practice – Is there somewhere that you can serve now? Maybe you could start a home bible study, join the women’s team at your church, or volunteer at a community center. God will direct you regarding where to start. Don’t despise small beginnings – it will give you the opportunity to hone your skills and focus in on your specialty.
I encourage you to keep going and press through every obstacle! God loves people and great leaders bring that message loud and clear to the world. You can be sure He will direct you in this call until the end – because it’s all about bringing His love to people. Don’t stress about what you don’t know – He knows it all and He will help you do this! |
