Reader Question: I want to help abused women. Where do I go from here?

Many times, God calls us to take our own personal "messes" and turn them into "messages" to help others. If this fits your situation, you are already on the right path toward ministering to other abused women!

Before you branch out on your own, you might want to research a couple of organizations that minister to abused women and maybe get some hands-on experience there. Since I don't know what geographical area you are living in, it would be hard for me to recommend any to you. Once you find one, learning the mission and vision statements of that organization would be a good start.

Most importantly, start clothing yourself with the spiritial armor God gives us (see Ephesians 6:10-18), because once you threaten the kingdom of darkness, you need to be prepared for attacks against you. But remember, "no weapon formed against us will prosper" (Isaiah 54:17), so don't be afraid!

We pray that God will guide you to an organization that will equip you to do the work God has called you to do. He has and will continue to provide everything you need to do His work! Blessings!
